August TOUR DE FREAKS - We are featuring goodies in the new Holiday Catalog

Welcome to the August TOUR DE FREAKS!   We are featuring goodies in the new Holiday Catalog that goes live on September 1st.  There are lots of wonderful items to pick from.  You may have come from Connie Babbert's blog.  Her projects are always fun to see.

I just received my Holiday Catalog order and decided to show a couple of Fall/Halloween cards.  My first card is a Fall themed card using the Happy Scenes stamp set and the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies.  I used a window sheet to make it look like you are looking out of the window.  I popped the actual window frame to give it depth.  This would make a nice fall birthday card for anyone.

Stamps:  Happy Scenes [in the new Holiday catalog on page 11], Butterfly Basics
CS:  Thick Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
DSP:  Timeless Elegance
Ink:   Momento Tuxedo Black

Misc:  Big Shot, Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies [ in the new in Holiday catalog on page 11]

Halloween Pumpkin Carving

We went to son, John's house to carve pumpkins.  There are always lots of people there.
Everyone carves a pumpkin and they have one pumpkin that is a community pumpkin that everyone contributes to.  It's always fun to see what everyone comes up with.

I'm behind on my posting.  We had a Craft Fair at the end of October and I was busily getting ready for it.  It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here.

I have seen lots of samples using the new Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die [Holiday Mini catalog on pg 11].  At our last Mile High Stamper meeting we made pumpkin boxes.

The card stock is Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green.  We used the Work of Art stamp set for the stripes on the pumpkin boxes using Pumpkin Pie ink.

Trick or Treat - Best of Halloween

This card was made by my upline, Connie Ingram at our September Stamp a Stack.  It uses Best of Halloween.  I'm loving the series of stamp sets that Stampin' Up! is putting out each month to celebrate their 25th Anniversary.  The DSP is from last year, I think.

Here is another nice card made by Connie.  I love the Sweater Weather DSP!   The stamp set is called Truly Grateful from the Holiday Mini catalog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Everything is Coming Up Halloween - Control Freaks Halloween Blog Tour

Welcome to our September Control Freaks Blog Tour.  We are featuring Halloween this month.  You may have come from Jan Tinklenberg's blog or are starting here.

The first card is a tweaked version of my Perfect Blend card.  It has Halloween colors but is good for anytime.

Stamp Set:  Perfect Blend
CS:  Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP:  Witches Brew, Modern Medley
Ink:  Basic Black Classic Pad
Punches:  Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch
Accessories:  Rhinestone Jewels, Paper Snips, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
+ + + + + + + + + +

My next card uses the new Circle Thinlits Card Die.  It is so easy to use and makes a wonderfully fun card.  To make the extra fold for inside the card, you put the 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of card stock through the opening of the die so it doesn't get cut off.  That gives the extra flap to be able to write in.  Pretty cool idea.  What an easy way to make a WOW card.

CS:  Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight

Accessories:  Big Shot, Circle Thinlits Card Die [133480, $32.95]
       Square Lattice Embossing Folder
+ + + + + + + + + +

My last card uses the new Envelope Punch Board which can be used for more than just envelopes.  I made a File Folder card.  I could have rounded the top corners but wanted the squared off version.

Stamps:  Best of Halloween
CS:  Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black Classic Pad
